SWELTO – Space WEather Laboratory in Turin Observatory
SHORT DESCRIPTION
The SWELTO project aims to develop and test new routines for real-time analysis of space observations of the Sun and the interplanetary space. These routines may in the future find an application for Space Weather purposes.
The project also aims to install new sensors on site in the Turin Observatory and to exploit existing sensors (such as the camera of the PRISMA project) to identify phenomena related to geomagnetic storms (ionospheric disturbances, geomagnetic disturbances, transient luminous events in the atmosphere) and to analyze the data acquired by these sensors. The combination of data acquired from space and ground will provide new insights into space weather problems.
