Dott. BARBARA BALMAVERDE

I am a Researcher at Osservatorio Astrofisico di Torino
which is part of the Istituto Nazionale di AstroFisica in the Extragalactic group

My main research interests concern the connection between the properties of radio-loud AGN and their hosts: in particular I investigate the role of AGN feedback, i.e. the way the energy and the radiation released by the AGN affect the nuclear environment (i.e. the broad and narrow line regions), the morphology of the host galaxy, and its star formation. I’m involved in the ASTRI and CTA collaboration (where my main interest is the selection of detectable blazars by the upcoming CTA telescope).

I’m also member of the LSST collaboration, in the Blazar group of the Transients and Variable Stars collaboration, where I focus on the properties of blazars variability.
