Born in Torino (Italy), January 11, 1958.

Research activities in the field of physical studies of small Solar system bodies from 1981 to 2021.
Retired on February 1, 2021. Associated to INAF since retirement.
Currently active in studies of the polarimetric properties of asteroids and responsible of the physical characterization of small bodies in the framework of the Gaia space mission.

Former President of IAU Commission 15 (2009-2012)
Chairman of the Permanent Monitoring Panel “Cosmic Objects” for the
World Federation of Scientists.
