I am a researcher at the INAF-Turin Astrophysical Observatory where I mainly work on the search for and characterization of extrasolar planets.
I was born in Catania where I graduated in Physics and took my PhD in Physics with a thesis on astrophysics. I worked four years in France, at the Institut d’Astrophysique Spatiale in Paris-Orsay during my PhD and later on at the Laboratoire d’Astrophysique de Marseille as a CNRS post-doc and a CNES fellow. I then moved to Turin in early 2012.
I like football, swimming in the sea, playing piano, being with my family and friends.
The main fields of my research/interests are as follows:
- Detection, characterization and properties of exoplanetary systems;
- Exoplanetary atmospheres;
- Planet occurrence rates;
- Magnetic activity of late-type stars;
- Star-planet interactions.
