Instruments aboard the Solar Orbiter – including the Metis coronograph – have already begun to observe the first coronal mass eruptions (or CMEs). Metis is the Italian coronograph funded by the Italian Space Agency and designed at the Turin Astrophysical Observatory (OATo) in collaboration with other teams of scientists from INAF, University of Florence, Padua and CNR.

Silvano Fineschi, OATo Director and INAF scientific responsible for the Solar Orbiter mission was interviewed by Media INAF (in Italian).
