Abstract
We will discuss two topics related to CMEs.
One will be observations and modeling of shocks in the corona using MAS MHD models for the ambient conditions and AIA images for the shock morphology and speed.
We attempt to determine the region where type II radio emission is produced.
The second topic includes time-dependent ionization, AIA images and and the use of Solar Energetic Particle abundances to infer the temperature in the current sheet.
